International Maarif Schools of Ethiopia

Turkish Maarif Foundation is Turkey's window to the world in international education. Founded on 17 June 2016 with Law No. 6721, our Foundation is an organization authorized to carry out educational activities abroad on behalf of the Republic of Türkiye. Turkish Maarif Foundation, which works for the public good and does not aim for profit, carries out all kinds of activities from pre-school to higher education, from formal education to non-formal education in all countries. 

Turkish Maarif Foundation has started its activities in Ethiopia in 2018 with the mission of raising good people and opened the first campus of International Maarif Schools of Ethiopia in Harar in 2019. In addition, our Foundation also carries out various non-formal education activities, including Turkish language education, with the TMF Turkish Cultural Center Harar opened in 2019. In 2021, Sebeta, Addis Ababa-Sarbet, CMC and Yeka Campuses of International Maarif Schools of Ethiopia started their activities. Finally, in August 2023, International Maarif Schools of Ethiopia Mekele Campus started its activities. 

As of 2025, International Maarif Schools of Ethiopia continue  educational activities with 3600 students and more than 700 staff in 7 campuses in 4 different regions and they contribute to the Ethiopian people, economy and education sector.
